Case Study:
Duplin County Libraries
Challenge
Duplin County Libraries needed a brand to re-fresh to capture the voice, personality, and value proposition they offer residents. The goal was to reflect the broad services, accessibility & knowledgeable staff within their branches
Collaboration & Graphic Design
The goal was to capture the full scope of what a library card offers the local population. It was important to their team to incorporate the color palette and capture the elements associated with Duplin County in the green, blue, leaves & water used by county’s government branding. Our designers worked together to create several directions for their team to consider before the final edits. The final concepts included versions of the logo that were cohesive but slightly different for various applications in print, promotional products, wearables and signage.
Knowing the logos would be used for different applications- promotional products, signs and wearables, our graphic designers suggested their brand guide include a simplified version that would work better on wearables for identification and smaller imprint areas. Often our team sees brand guides that are too rigid for implementation across the promotional industry. It’s essential in the design process to consider how decoration processes & imprint space on an array of promotional items will be applied, designing with these challenges in mind.
Impact
The new launch & branding has provided the library system with a more professional and cohesive appearance that’s inviting visitors and increasing awareness of what’s available with one’s library card. Library Director, Laura Jones summarized her experience with our company by saying “When it came time to create a logo for our library system, I knew who to call! I knew the reputation of the team at Promotional Partners and wanted them to guide the process. They talked through what we wanted and the packages they offer - they didn’t oversell more than we needed. The team was great to work with tweaking small changes until we got what we wanted. They had a huge variety of options and price points for the items we wanted to show off our new look - bags for book checkout (from plastic to canvas and a backpack style for kids) and stickers and magnets for our patrons to show off their favorite spot for reading materials as well as the printing services we offer! All the products are high quality, and the turnaround time was super! We’ll return to the team at Promotional Partners for more products! I never leave home without our new branding.”
